SUMMARY:A Nest of Gentle Makers
DESCRIPTION:A Nest of Gentle Makers was started in 2018 by Dr Charlotte Jenner with the aim of creating restorative retreats in beautiful settings. \n“We run retreats in a variety of locations ranging from rustic woodland to the majesty of Boconnoc House. But at our core is a desire to give our attendees the space and time that they need to nurture their creativity. \nWe are so excited to have the opportunity to bring A Nest of Gentle Makers once again to Boconnoc House. This beautiful country house estate is the perfect place to relax in comfort whilst feeding your creativity. There will be creative workshops\, walks\, yoga\, maybe some swimming and plenty of time to connect and chat. They will be intimate retreats of 8-11 guests. Each retreat is a half week (3 nights) and we will have different guest teachers for the two retreats so it would be completely possible (and rather wonderful) to join us for the whole week (6 nights).” \nRetreat Two: Thursday 27th- Sunday 30th October 2022\nVisible Mending\, Darning and Gentle Hand-Sewing with Charlotte Jenner \n“Over the course of three workshops we will dive deep into mending our clothes. Charlotte will lead you through the techniques of visible mending using sewing techniques and darning knitted and woven garments. We will learn the basics and then get started on mending some loved items of clothing that attendees will have brought along. In addition\, we will spend time hand-sewing and will hand sew a small item such as a notions pouch or maybe a modern day ‘portable pocket’.” \n \n\n\nCreativity and health and well being are closely linked and by feeding your creativity you will be helping yourself to reduce stress and to keep well. We have a wonderful inclusive yoga teacher\, Kate Woodward @gingertonicyoga who will guide us on both energising and restorative yoga practices throughout the retreats.
